ABOUT ABOUT

Are you a Social Entreprenuer, a relentless team builder and problem solver that sets new norms in your field of work!?

PhilanthropyTouch is proud to host the Ashoka foundation's Nancy Welsh, who heads their Youth Venture! She will lead a discussion on what they are doing to solve the world's biggest social challenges through social entrepreneurship!

Youth Venture (https://www.youthventure.org), which is Ashoka's global youth organization, inspires social entrepreneurship with young people (12 to 20) so they can make a difference in their communities and the world. Many of their global youth entrepreneur projects involve a call to action that asks young people to look at projects for their communities and the world to address many of the socially responsible issues from the environment to projects involving training and education of the next generation.

Ashoka finds and fosters the most powerful emergent ideas being led by the most effective social entrepreneurs and provides a pathway for all citizens to be changemakers.

They build networks of pattern-changing social innovators and select high-impact entrepreneurs, who creatively solve some of the world's biggest social challenges, to become Ashoka Fellows. Ashoka believes that there is nothing more powerful than a new idea in the hands of a social entrepreneur. Social Entrepreneurs are practical visionaries – practical in that they are highly attentive to the nuts and bolts of making things work, and visionary in that they often reframe the problem, build roles for others to participate, and cast a long term view for change at least at the national level.
